August 18, 2021 By Notebook Center Editorial Team Lenovo
Summary: The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro combines a 16-inch 2560x1600 165 Hz display, Ryzen 5 5600H, and GeForce RTX 3060 with practical connectivity and solid cooling.

Editor note: This is an original English adaptation of a Notebook-Center.ru review, prepared by Notebook Center for practical readability.

Overview

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H is positioned as a serious gaming notebook with balanced hardware: AMD Ryzen 5 5600H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, and a 1 TB SSD. Its 16-inch WQXGA display and 16:10 aspect ratio make it suitable not only for games, but also for everyday work that benefits from extra vertical screen space. The chassis is relatively compact for this class, while still including a broad set of ports and an 80 Wh battery.

Design and Build

The device uses a mix of aluminum and plastic panels and feels rigid in everyday handling. The Storm Grey finish is understated for a gaming notebook, and the Legion branding is visible but not overly aggressive. Despite the 16-inch format, the footprint stays close to many 15.6-inch systems. The hinge opens to around 130 degrees and holds the screen firmly. Ventilation is distributed across the chassis, including the rear and bottom areas.

Display, Audio, and Webcam

The 16-inch IPS panel is one of the strongest parts of this model: 2560x1600 resolution, 16:10 ratio, matte surface, and high brightness. The source review also notes 165 Hz refresh and fast response, which improves gaming smoothness. Stereo speakers with Nahimic support are usable for daily media, while external audio remains the better choice for fuller sound. The 720p webcam is basic but functional, and the physical privacy shutter is a practical extra.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The full-size keyboard is tuned for both gaming and regular typing, with clear key legends, short travel, and RGB backlighting with zone controls. The arrow-key layout is separated enough to reduce accidental presses in games. The touchpad is wide, smooth, and responsive for gestures and normal navigation.

Performance, Ports, and Battery Behavior

With the Ryzen 5 5600H and RTX 3060, this configuration is built for modern games and demanding workloads. Integrated Radeon graphics handles lighter tasks, while the discrete GPU is used for gaming. In the source testing notes, contemporary titles were playable at high settings, with heavier games benefiting from adjusted presets for smoother frame rates. Connectivity is practical: many cable-heavy ports are moved to the rear, including HDMI, RJ-45, USB, and charging. Wireless support includes Wi-Fi 6 class standards and Bluetooth 5.1. Battery life varies strongly by workload: gaming can drain the 80 Wh battery quickly (around one hour), while lighter usage such as web browsing lasts notably longer (around five hours). Under load, the cooling system keeps temperatures under control, with the bottom panel getting warmer than the keyboard zone.

Verdict

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is a well-rounded gaming laptop for users who want a sharp high-refresh 16-inch display, strong mid-high class graphics performance, and sensible port placement. Its main compromise is typical for this category: short unplugged gaming time and noticeable heat on the underside during heavy load. For desk-first gaming and mixed daily use, it remains a strong contender.
