Overview

The HP ProBook 445 G7 is a mainstream 14-inch laptop designed for everyday office and study tasks. In this tested configuration, it uses an AMD Ryzen 3 4300U processor, 8 GB RAM, and a 256 GB SSD. The model focuses on reliability with an aluminum chassis, a webcam privacy shutter, and a fingerprint scanner, while keeping weight at 1.6 kg for easy travel.

Design and Build

The chassis uses aluminum alloy and feels solid in daily handling. The hinge opens up to 180 degrees, which helps in different work positions. The silver body with black keyboard and display frames keeps a simple business look, and the matte finish reduces visible fingerprints.

Display and Multimedia

The 14-inch IPS panel provides Full HD detail and stable viewing angles, and the matte surface helps reduce reflections. At the same time, the panel is limited by about 250 nits brightness and around 60% sRGB color coverage, so it is better for office work and web use than color-accurate creative tasks. The 1 MP webcam is basic but usable for video calls, and the privacy shutter is a practical security feature.

Keyboard and Input

The island-style keyboard is spill-resistant and comfortable for long typing sessions. Key labeling is clear, but this configuration does not include keyboard backlighting. The touchpad responds accurately to gestures, and the integrated fingerprint scanner adds fast and convenient sign-in support when used with a compatible operating system.

Performance and Daily Work

The Ryzen 3 4300U is a 4-core processor that handles office software, browsing, streaming, and typical multitasking well. The integrated Radeon Vega 5 graphics is sufficient for media and light graphics workloads, but gaming performance is limited and usually requires low settings and reduced resolution. The 256 GB SSD keeps system and app response quick, though storage capacity is modest.

Ports and Battery Life

The laptop includes a practical set of modern and legacy connections, including USB Type-C with DisplayPort, HDMI, RJ-45 Ethernet, and an SD card reader. Most ports are on the right side, which may be less convenient for some desk setups. The 45 Wh battery is rated for long usage in light workloads, with around a full workday possible in mixed office and browser scenarios.

Verdict

The HP ProBook 445 G7 is a balanced choice for users who need a durable, portable, and secure business laptop for everyday work. Its strongest points are chassis quality, practical input devices, useful port selection, and good battery endurance. The main compromise is the display quality, especially brightness and color range, which may not satisfy users with demanding visual workloads.
