October 19, 2021 By Notebook Center Editorial Team ASUS
Summary: The MSI GS76 Stealth 11UH combines an Intel Core i7-11800H and GeForce RTX 3080 in a slim 17.3-inch chassis, with a fast 360 Hz display and strong battery capacity, but noticeable heat and fan noise under load.

Overview

The MSI GS76 Stealth 11UH is a 17.3-inch gaming laptop built for users who want high performance without moving to a very thick desktop replacement design. In this configuration, it combines an Intel Core i7-11800H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 16 GB, 32 GB RAM, and a 2 TB SSD. The device targets gaming, content creation, and heavy multitasking in one machine.

Its strongest point is the balance between slim dimensions and high-end components. The main compromise is thermal and acoustic behavior under sustained load, plus some chassis flex around the keyboard area.

Design and Build

The GS76 uses a full-metal body in a restrained black finish. It looks professional for a gaming model and does not rely on aggressive styling. Build quality is generally solid, with no major creaks reported in normal handling. At the same time, the keyboard deck can flex in the center and near the touchpad, which is a noticeable weakness for a premium-class machine.

The laptop remains relatively portable for a 17.3-inch model at 2.45 kg. Internal access allows service work for SSDs, battery, and cooling components after removing the bottom panel screws.

Display and Multimedia

The 17.3-inch matte IPS panel uses Full HD resolution and a 360 Hz refresh rate, which is ideal for fast competitive gaming. The source review reports high brightness (up to 500 nits), strong contrast around 1000:1, and broad color coverage (about 95% sRGB and 65% AdobeRGB), making the screen suitable for both gaming and semi-professional visual work.

Dual speakers with Dynaudio support are adequate for casual video and music playback, though bass response is limited. The 720p IR webcam is practical for video calls and supports quick facial-login workflows.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The island-style keyboard offers around 1.5 mm key travel with clear feedback and per-key RGB lighting customization. The layout includes a numpad and full-size arrow keys, which helps for both productivity and games. Typing comfort is good over long sessions, although key presses are on the louder side.

The touchpad surface is smooth, but its proportions are wide and relatively short, which can make some multi-touch gestures less comfortable. The click mechanism may also feel rattly when pressed.

Performance, Gaming, and Connectivity

With the Core i7-11800H (8 cores, 16 threads), RTX 3080 16 GB, 32 GB RAM, and 2 TB SSD, this configuration is positioned for demanding workloads. The source review indicates strong gaming results at maximum settings in titles such as Far Cry 6, New World, Days Gone, Cyberpunk 2077, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Connectivity is modern and practical: dual USB 3.2 ports, Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-C, HDMI, RJ-45 Ethernet, SD card reader, and Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.2. This is a strong selection for gaming setups, creators, and mixed office/home use.

Battery, Heat, and Noise

The 99.9 Wh battery is large for this class. Reported runtime is around 6.5 hours for web browsing, up to 10 hours in idle conditions, and roughly 1 to 1.5 hours under maximum load. These are good numbers for a high-power 17-inch gaming laptop.

Thermals and acoustics are the main trade-offs. Under heavy load, surface temperatures can become high, and fan noise is clearly audible (reported around 48 dB). In lighter office and browsing use, the chassis stays much cooler and quieter.

Verdict

The MSI GS76 Stealth 11UH is a strong option for users who need desktop-class gaming performance in a slimmer 17.3-inch format. It delivers a very fast display, high-end graphics, useful port selection, and a high-capacity battery. Buyers should still plan for higher heat, audible fan noise, and some keyboard-area flex under pressure. For users who prioritize performance and mobility over absolute chassis rigidity and quiet operation, the balance is convincing.
